MATERIALS AND MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE OF WOOD
Wood is a living natural product, and there may be color differences and natural growth as well as markings in the finished furniture. Solid wood is a living material that is affected by daylight and humidity. Furniture made of solid wood should therefore not be placed too close to heat sources such as stoves or radiators. As daylight patinas the wood, it is also important to be careful with permanent placement of various objects on solid wood, e.g. dishes, vases and candlesticks, as over time they can cause unwanted color differences that are difficult to even out
MAT LACQUER
Lacquered furniture is maintenance-free. The furniture can be wiped daily with a soft cloth soaked in clean water. The furniture will not be affected by daylight in the same way as soap or oil treated surfaces. However, the furniture will still be able to take color over time, and we recommend that you be careful when placing dishes, candlesticks, etc. and we do not recommend direct sunlight. We do not recommend using cleaning agents or other types of chemicals on the wood
CLEAR OIL
Regular maintenance of oil-treated wooden furniture is easy and, in the long run, very effective. To achieve the most optimal result, we recommend that you oil your furniture 2-4 times a year, depending on wear and light. Scratches in the furniture can be sanded carefully. It is important to sand in the same direction as the grain of the wood using fine sandpaper grain 240. After sanding, always wipe the furniture with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust. After this, an oil treatment is also given in the direction of the wood's grain. First, clean the entire piece of furniture with a clean, dry cloth and clean, warm water. Then let the furniture dry. Before applying the oil, lightly sand the surface of the furniture with sandpaper (grit 240). Apply the oil to a clean white cloth or sponge. Do not pour it directly onto the tree. Apply the oil in the direction of the veins in an even thin layer. It is important to treat the entire surface of the furniture. Let the oil dry for approx. 15 minutes & then remove excess oil with a clean, dry cloth. The oil has a curing time of 12 hours. Daily cleaning is done with a soft cloth soaked in clean warm water. Avoid using cleaning agents or other chemicals on the furniture.
MAINTENANCE OF MARBLE
Our marble is treated directly from the factory with "Platinum Zip", for more detailed information about this treatment, please visit Google. Only use cleaning products that you would normally use on your hands. Wipe daily with a soft cloth or sponge and only warm water or a special marble cleaner. Spilled food should be cleaned up immediately before it can seep in and cause a stain or discoloration (this can happen overnight). Remember to dab, not wipe, as this can spread the spill.
