Wood is a living natural product, color differences & natural growths as well as markings in the finished furniture may occur. Solid wood is a living material that is affected by daylight & humidity. Solid wood furniture should therefore not be placed too close to heat sources such as wood stoves or radiators. As daylight patinate the wood, it is also important to be careful with permanent placements of various objects on solid wood, e.g., dishes, vases, and candlesticks as they can cause unwanted color differences over time difficult to even out
Lacquered furniture is maintenance free. The furniture can be wiped off daily with a soft cloth soaked in clean water. The unit will not be affected by daylight in the same way as soap- or oil-treated surfaces. However, the furniture will still be able to take on color over time and we recommend that you exercise caution when placing dishes, candlesticks etc. and we do not recommend direct sun light. We do not recommend the use of cleaning agents or other types of chemicals on the wood
Regular maintenance of oil-treated wooden furniture is easy and in the long run very efficient. To achieve the most optimal result, we recommend that you oil your furniture 2-4 times a year depending on wear & light. Scratches in the furniture can be sanded gently. It is important to sand in the same direction as the vein of the wood using fine sandpaper grain 240. After sanding, always wipe the furniture with a clean dry cloth to remove dust. An oil treatment is then given as well in the direction of the wood veins. First, clean the entire piece of furniture with a clean and dry cloth clean warm water. Then let the furniture dry. Before applying the oil, lightly sand the surface of the furniture with sandpaper (grain 240) Apply the oil on a clean white cloth or sponge. Do not pour it directly on the wood. Apply the oil in the direction of the veins in an evenly fine layer. It is important to treat the entire surface of the furniture. Let the oil dry for approx. 15 minutes & then remove any excess oil with a clean dry cloth. The oil has a curing time of 12 hours. Daily cleaning is done with a soft cloth soaked in clean warm water. Avoid using cleaning agents or any chemicals on the furniture.
Our marble is treated directly from the factory with ”Platinum Zip”, for more detailed information about this treatment please visit Google. Only use cleaning products you would normally us on your hands. Wipe down daily using a soft cloth or sponge & only hot water or a special marble cleaner. Spilled food should be cleared up right away before it can seep in & cause a stain or discoloration (this can happen overnight). Remember to blot, do not wipe because wiping can spread the spill.
